Uncharted Island, Somewhere on Earth

”Goodbye, World… ”

After becoming the first businesswoman to establish a world-renowned estate corporation, Greisha Ricci abandoned her affluence to fulfill a lifelong dream:

To live in a small cabin at the top of a secluded mountain, alone for the rest of her life, unfettered by romance and worldly matters.

She was a beautiful and intelligent woman in her twenties, with features unparalleled even among hand-drawn princesses and pageant queens. Everyone whod seen her in person hailed her as a living goddess. In the world of commerce, even the wisest of men revered her wisdom. The only flawed pea in all her judgments was her adamant desire to live in isolation.

”Hello, Paradise. ”

For months, Greisha lived her fantasies like a villain-free Alice in Wonderland. No Queen of Hearts nor broken hearts—just paraíso.

Every morning, shed close her eyes to embrace the morning sun. As her arms stretch for a yawn, the sunlight spreads across valleys and mountains—basking her paradise with its warmth. Then, shed open her eyes at the blue ocean that separates her from the rest of the world.

She was all alone on her own island, living her best life in solitude. And shed trade all the worlds riches to stay here forever.

”What do I pick for morning tea? ” her slender fingers lingered over a variety of herbs and petals dried on an Ebony table, ”Hibiscus—to complement the first day of spring. ”

She brewed some hibiscus tea and lounged on her deck; her sea-green eyes locked on the horizon. While taking small sips of her drink, she hummed the words, ”Goodbye, world. Hello, paradise~ ” again and again.

In the middle of imagining her perfect afternoon, a sudden commotion caused her to spill tea all over her Strawberry Shortcake pajamas.

”Oh, berries! ” she hissed while whisking the hot beverage off herself.

Her entire vocabulary cursed down an approaching helicopter. Its massive frame disrupted her perfect view of the ocean, and the sound of its propellers roared louder and louder like an alarm clock waking her from her reverie. Seconds later, a familiar figure rappelled out of the aircraft and onto her manicured lawn.

Lucas Yoon, her best friend in life and partner in business, approached her like a well-dressed piece of bad news.

”Lucas, ” she laughed nervously, ”I remember telling you NEVER to visit unless all the pigs had gone extinct. This better be some good news. ”

Greisha stopped herself from overthinking matters. Why did Lucas come to visit out of the blue? Maybe, as her best friend, he missed spending time together? Anything than him dragging her out of this paradise on short notice would do.

”The world leaders encountered problems with your grant, ” Lucas said. ”You need to come with me. ”

”W-why? What happened? ” she held back on throwing a tantrum.

What about her plans to go berry-picking after lunch? And the river that snaked across the valley with waters oh-so-refreshing and oh-so-blue? Shed dreaded frolicking in its waters since the end of winter.

”Theres no time to explain. ” His eyes were stern like a mother confiscating a lollipop from her son. ”If we miss the general assembly of world leaders that begins in an hour, theyll come here to settle matters personally. You wouldn want that, would you? ”

Greisha clenched her fist. She vowed
