Little Terrified Bun Chapter 67

The North wind hits in December, blowing so harshly that everyone had to wrap themselves in the shape of huge rice dumplings.

Wei Jing wore a cream colored puffer coat with thick snow boots on his feet.
His nose had turned red from the wind and half his face was buried in the scarf, making him look like Rudolph, the cutest thing ever.

Wei Zhe walked beside the child without feeling much coldness, as he had a strong constitution.
He wore just a black coat, which was left open, revealing the dark blue knitted sweater inside.
His body was tall and straight, his eyebrows dark as if painted with ink, foreshadowing his future handsomeness.

Xu Jiahui lived in the upper class villa area in the North, in a private three story villa that came with a garden and lots of privacy.

Wei Jing had informed Xu Jiahui about his visit today, and Xu Jiahui rushed out of the house like a small firecracker before they even knocked on the door.
“Ahhh!!! Wei Jing’s here.
Come on in quickly; it’s really cold outside! My mom baked cookies, let’s eat together…”

Startled, Wei Jing patted his chest for assurance and calmed his sudden rush of breath, saying, “Ah!” Just as he finished saying this, the child saw Xu Jiaming and his wife arrive at the door.
“Uncle, Auntie.” Wei Jing turned to greet them.

“Come on in!” Xu Jiaming greeted heartily.
“It’s a cold day.
It’s warmer in the house.”

Big Brother Wei followed behind Wei Jing.
He handed the delicate packaged fruit basket on his hand to Xu’s couple politely.
“Mr.
Xu, Mrs.
Xu, sorry for the bother.”

The couple paused, looked in each other’s eyes, then welcomed the teenager without further discussion.

As they entered the house, warmth rushed towards them, making their bodies feel fully relaxed.
Wei Jing took off his creamy white scarf, hung it on the crimson clothing rack, and changed into furry slippers.
The lobby was decorated in the widely-used farmhouse style, with a beautiful preserved flower hung on the wall, wrapped around in retro newspapers.

The sofa set had small white flowers on it.
One could tell that it was chosen by Aunt Xu just by looking at it.

A few plates of cookies shaped like chibi characters were placed on the tea table, its golden baked color provoked one’s appetite simply by looking at it.

For some reason, Wei Jing started to envy Xu Jiahui.
He was walking behind his big brother at the moment and he looked up at big brother’s lofty back, and pinched his own thumb hesitantly.
Never mind.
It would be best if he didn’t tell his big brother.
His big brother was already busy enough, so how could he trouble his big brother even more?

Decorating the apartment, he…he can do it himself, too~

All of them chatted casually in the lobby for a while.
Then, before Xu Jiahui’s unwilling eyes, Wei Jing got his sketchbook and went to the art room with Xu Jiaming.

In the spacious and brightly lit room hung a few of Xu Jiaming’s artworks.
Aside from those, there were some immature yet lively pastel paintings, which evoked Wei Jing’s curiosity.
Pointing at one of the paintings, Wei Jing inquired, “Uncle, were those made by Xu Jiahui?”

Xu Jiaming let out a chuckle upon hearing the question.
“My bratty son can’t even hold a brush, much less draw.
This is from one of my apprentices.
Although he’s young, he’s really gifted in art!”

Wei Jing was shocked.
“Wow! Will he come over today?”

“En.” Xu Jiaming nodded.
“He will be here in a while and you guys can draw together later.”

“Come on, draw something you like and let me see.”

“Me?” Wei Jing blinked his eyes and thought for a while, then picked up a pencil and quickly drew a cool chibi character on his sketchbook.
Something he likes~ then it must be his big brother! Wei Jing thought sweetly.

The child’s hands were soft, well-rounded, and his nails were pink with small lunulas.
A gleam of amazement flashed in Xu Jiaming’s eyes.
“Are you drawing… your big brother?” He asked.

“En.” Wei Jing nodded strongly.

The man looked at the child and asked, “You learned how to draw before?”

“I did.” Wei Jing had his head lowered while replying with ambiguity, “I watched others teach and tried to learn it myself.” He had watched many drawing tutorials, but in this lifetime…2002, the internet had just started to develop and it was only at the exploratory stage, so where were those drawing tutorials?

“You draw so well.” Xu Jiaming complimented generously, “At your age, you can already draw like this without systematic learning.
It’s really good.
Have you thought about what path you’re going to take in the future?”

Wei Jing gazed brightly at Xu Jiaming with his dark eyes and expressed clearly, “I want to be an animator in the future and draw lots and lots of good comics.”

Xu Jiaming choked, almost suffocating himself upon hearing this.
He, he… he had expressed his intent to teach Wei Jing so explicitly.
Why was the child lowering himself to become an animator? It was as if a pure jade was determined to be a rock.

Currently, artwork from China was depreciated.
Unlike IP (Intellectual Property) that could be developed in the future, artwork could not be posted on social media to gain fans or attract paid endorsements.
They could only be posted in comic magazines and things of that sort.

To Xu Jiaming, of course he didn’t care.

‘This is a child.
He still doesn’t know anything, take it slow,’ Xu Jiaming told himself.
He lowered his head to be at the same level as the child and coaxed him, “Do you like pastel paintings? How about uncle teach you pastel painting?”

Wei Jing scratched his head, feeling strange.

But…but since the soon-to-be-famous artist had offered the opportunity, there shouldn't be any problem with him learning.
Both comics and pastel painting needed composition after all~ It’s not that much different.

Hey hey hey! There’s a huge difference!

Xu Jiaming already acknowledged Wei Jing’s stable fundamentals when he drew the chibi characters.
Now that one person was teaching and the other learning, one was a talented genius artist and the other was a “child” who possessed memories of the future, they indeed had an enjoyable time together.
