Danfeng, Siguo Pavilion.

Early morning sunlight peered through the mists of the mountains, through the window frame of the Siguo Pavilion, carelessly dappling the writing papers spread on the pear-wood table.

Xia Ge’s hand holding the brush lightly trembled.

Red lines on yellow paper, a bit of writing, faint traces of ink, all compounding the endless torment in Xia Ge’s heart.

Copying the Danxun—3000 times!!

3000 times!

Her Liuli tree!

How could she be so unfortunate…

Pain like a knife twisted in her chest.

And what was the reason she was stuck in such tragic circumstances?

Xia Ge put a paper up on the window sill, waiting for the mountain breezes to dry the small script on it, and returned to the pear-wood table.
Grabbing a fresh sheet, she continued copying from the horribly thick red-leather bound book.

Yes, she was a transmigrator.

First, there was an individual who’d gone under the wheels of a car, only surviving by some strange stroke of luck.
But her brains had gotten a good knock and she’d lain on a hospital bed for two years in a vegetative state.
Finally waking up and leaving the hospital, she’d consoled herself with the thought that ‘after the bitter comes the sweet.’ Now her time would come, her fortune would change for the better, she’d find some ‘Mr.
Perfect’ to marry and live happily ever after.
Instead…she’d promptly become a miserable beggar girl in a novel.

According to bystanders’ vivid accounts, the car accident had been truly shocking and horrific.
However, to her it’d felt like falling into a deep dream.

Just that it was a terrible dream.

…Waking up in a sterile, stinking-of-disinfectant hospital, looking at the calendar and seeing that she’d lost two years.
What bullshit…

Although Xia Ge still lauded herself for what great psychological fortitude she’d displayed, accepting the reality that two years of her youth were gone.

Too admirable.

Seeing that the ink was nearly dry on the paper on the window sill, Xia Ge put it on a pile of already done pages, put a second piece of paper filled with crabbed writing on top of that, and held it all down with a paperweight.
Then she started on her third sheet.

So, summing it all up, she was a slag book character.
And, after all this time in this fucking rotten world, she was still in a scum supporting role and couldn’t even be considered a green onion.

Hell, to her credit though, when she’d first transmigrated into this book, she’d barely been fazed.

In the real world she had a younger brother named Xia Wuyin…very well-behaved, never caused trouble…While Xia Ge had been in the hospital, Xia Wuyin went to school while also doing part-time jobs to pay for Xia Ge’s medical expenses.
Their father and mother had passed away prematurely, but had left a decent-sized inheritance behind.
However, Xia Ge had been the one in charge of it, and after her accident, her young brother had been left in a bind.

The money was in Xia Ge’s hands.
Then Xia Ge had her accident, and the inexperienced Xia Wuyin who’d just come of age ran around working everywhere, earning the money for his older sister’s care.

When Xia Ge had finally woken up and been discharged from the hospital, her younger brother’s efforts were no longer needed.
Xia Ge’s life was back on track.
So she didn’t understand.
Why had she suddenly transmigrated into this book?!

After leaving the hospital, Xia Wuyin had asked Xia Ge to not try to work right away, but recuperate at home.
Xia Ge had acquiesced, hanging about the house like a salted fish.

When a person is idle, they’ll likely look for something to pass the time.
Such as reading novels and what not.

But when Xia Ge had looked at her bookcase she found that her collections of Dou X Dalou, Zhe X, and Xingchen X had all completely disappeared—

Immediately she’d been pissed off.

Never mind, it didn’t matter.
At any rate, she’d filched books from her younger brother’s bookcase.
Younger brother must have taken advantage of her absence and stolen some back.

Digging through Xia Wuyin’s bookcase, Xia Ge was surprised to see that her brother’s books were quite different from the past.
Very proper and serious.
What was Western Economics? Tales from 5000 Years of Chinese History in three volumes by Cao Yuzhang? The Story of Western History? The whole bookcase was brimming with such titles.

Well, maybe it was true that personal suffering brought about transformation.

Abruptly and utterly gratified, Xia Ge patted herself on the back for being a qualified older sister.
Taking out books from Xia Wuyin’s desk, Xia Ge discovered they weren’t much different than the ones in the bookcase. How Bad X Is Made, School X’s Personal Protection X…and other miscellaneous titles.

Very good, very good.
Xia Ge’s younger brother was honing his skills.
Even such a rotten punk could become a pillar of society…just like his older sister!

Unfortunately, Xia-Upstanding Citizen-Ge’s happiness only lasted about three seconds.

In Xia-Social Pillar-Wuyin’s desk was a book about 7 or 8 centimeters thick, enough writing to be chewed on for half a month.
It could be used as brick to hit people upside the head…a pirated black book like those seen everywhere in venders’ stalls—

The Boundless Beauty of the Wind and the Moon.

Xia-Upstanding Citizen-Ge: “……”

Skipping the preface…

Well, well, well…it appeared the leopard couldn’t change his spots.
Why wasn’t her younger brother upright and incorruptible like her?!
Reading this kind of novel would warp the mind!

And a pirated copy no less! Even worse!

Siguo-to reflect on one’s past errors/ ponder [ruminate] upon one’s faults
(So I guess Xia Ge has been going by her little brother’s name?)

Having learned through her own bitter experiences, Xia Ge decided that, in order to prevent the perversion of her little brother’s person, she would test the waters before him.
She would try reading this book herself.
That way she would gain a better understanding of the pollution threatening her sibling and thus—be able to take the appropriate measures!

Oh, if she could turn back time, if she could transmigrate again, if only…

Xia Ge would most certainly hang Xia-I Buy Pirated Books-Wuyin up by and beat him a hundred times!

A hundred times!

Truthfully, Xia-Pillar of Society-Ge, while pretending to abhor such lowbrow literature, was quite happy to read tawdry novels, taking great delight in addictive stories.

Spouting one thing, but doing another, her own bookshelf had briefly held more than a few trashy male-oriented novels confiscated from her younger brother.

Online, the main characters of these novels might be affectionately and tenderly called—

Double-standard dogs.

At that time, Xia-Double Standard-Ge wasn’t aware that ‘double-standards’ were very unruly things.
She was simply missing her old ‘cream of the crop’ books that were nowhere to be found.

For in the past, she’d thrown the bullshit ‘Jack Sue,’ stallion/harem novels in the trash can, usually keeping only ‘true love’ stories.

Yet her ‘true love’ books had vanished, and they weren’t to be found on her brother’s bookshelf.
That meant the only addictive novel left for Xia Ge to gnaw on, to pass the time with, was—The Boundless Beauty of the Wind and the Moon.

The title sounded romantic enough.
Perhaps the content wouldn’t be too bad, younger brother’s taste shouldn’t be too…

Yikes.
Was this an incurable sickness? Reading about these incorrigible stallions and pushover women?

Xia Ge would just read it for a little bit…

Xia Ge: “……”

Close to submitting a complaint to the authorities, Xia Ge felt the situation hopeless.
Her younger brother was beyond fixing, and now even she herself might be fatally infected.

Suffocating.

If it wasn’t for her doctor’s advice, she’d have been on her phone right then……

If only her collection of quality novels hadn’t gone missing……

If not for the endlessly boring days of convalescence……

Xia Ge’s gaze swept across the assorted titles on her young brother’s bookshelf, XX Economics, Tales from 5000 Years of Chinese History, Practical Economic Law…

Until her eyes came back to rest on the copy of The Boundless Beauty of the Wind and the Moon in her hands.

Xia Ge: “……”

True, her younger brother had been going through hardships.

Even so, reading this type of stallion story where everything went the main character’s way…why waste time with it?

And Xia Ge couldn’t recall encountering another protagonist who held onto his aggrievances so tightly.

What made it worse was that this still a stallion/harem novel!

How did lovely female characters end up with such a garbage male protagonist?!

The endless anger of the male protagonist was plain to see from merely skimming the bare bones of the text.
Perhaps that how the XX Sect Master knew with a glance that the male protagonist was gifted and would be a great talent?!

Such a wimpy male protagonist too, eyes on the ground, yet harboring dreams of the stars and seas.
No wonder he became the leader of XX Sect.
Meanwhile Xia Ge was an unfortunate soul who got hit by a car when she walked out the door.
Oh, the gap between people…hahaha.

Xia Ge’s face was expressionless as she continued to flip pages.

What was wrong all of these female characters’ eyes?

How did they fall for such bullshit?

Pressing on, Xia Ge read some more.

There were too many low points in the beginning, but later the story line became passable.

The general plot was of a lame male protagonist whose whole family was exterminated.
Relying on a sect master’s keen perception and a personal token, he joined a cultivation sect, became more and more fucking great, more and more self-confident, until more and more female characters fell for him.

It took Xia Ge about three or four days to finish the novel.

Why had she taken the trouble to read the whole thing?

Mainly because the characters behind the male protagonist were too fucking awesome, inspirational even.
Not just brainless Sues.

…Although way too many girls got accepted into the harem, making Xia Ge uncomfortable and out of sorts.

Why had each and every excellent lady in the novel gotten with the scumbag male protagonist?

The key point was that Xia Ge still felt annoyed and a bit angry.
The author’s writing was very good.
The initially weak, cowardly, and slightly tsundere male protagonist also valued loyalty, had patience, and was gentle to little sisters—

Yet after the male protagonist got strong, he turned into a real bastard.
The perverse demon whispering in his heart had him counting girls’ panties, while on the surface the monster was disguised with the smiley face of a kindly and modest gentleman.

Yes, the amiable smiley face of a ladies man.

After which, as to be expected, the author had the male protagonist collecting every sort of little sister.

One by one, the little sisters threw themselves into the male protagonist’s arms, spouting tripe like: “It doesn’t matter.
I know you don’t like me, but let me like you.” “I only like you!” “It doesn’t matter if I die for you…who made me love you?” And so on…

Tsk.
Numerous flowers and the male protagonist let not one slip by.

Male Protagonist: “It was the author who made accept them all!”

Xia Ge: “……”

Well, it actually was the author’s fault.

Originally Xia Ge had read the novel to pass the time.
When it was said and done, the book might have been bogus, but it was also entertaining.
The author X had forcibly fed a harem and it had been eaten.
Even if that left Xia Ge irritated, she couldn’t erase her memory.
She’d just have to laugh it off.

After all, it was a stallion novel.

And that was the morality of a stallion story.
Accept it.

Though Xia Ge was surprised at herself, (a paragon of virtue!), reading that type of trashy book.
Reading the whole thing!

Furthermore, even while she couldn’t stand the male protagonist’s perspective, she’d even enjoyed the novel.

Still, as the proverb goes, ‘When God closes a door, he opens a window.’ And if God should regrettably forget to open that window, and you scrabble around, looking for a way out, you can always find a dog hole to climb out of.

When Xia Ge had first transmigrated to this world, she’d found herself a little beggar.
Sadly for her, God hadn’t been paying attention and there’d been no open window.
Until finally, after two or three years of miserable beggary, God finally remembered to dig her a dog hole…No, finally remembered to give her hope in life.

She’d run across the male protagonist.

Ye ★ Beggar ★ Ze ★ Male Protagonist

Becoming a beggar after his whole family had been exterminated…the male protagonist.

Xia Ge: “……”

Haha.
After bitterly begging for food in a world overflowing with evildoers, at last, in the third year, Xia Ge understood where she was.

She hadn’t transmigrated to another world, but into a novel.

The one she’d had read right before transmigrating, the stallion novel The Boundless Beauty of the Wind and the Moon.

And then, after meeting the male protagonist—-

[Ding! Key Person Encountered-System Is Loading √]

[Ding! Puppet System Loaded! Welcome Host-You Have Arrived In The Book–The Boundless Beauty Of The Wind And The Moon—-]

No, you’re wrong, System.
There isn’t endless natural beauty here…only boundless debt, boundless begging, and boundless hunger.
Despair and desperation.

‘Creak.’

Xia Ge’s train of thought was suddenly interrupted.

The closed wooden door of Siguo Pavilion had been quietly pushed open.

A grim young man came in with another pile of paper, walking to the side of the pear-wood table, his face rather unsightly.
Pulling herself back for her painful memories, Xia Ge looked up with a ‘nothing left to live for’ expression: “Oh, Ye Ze.”

Yes, it was the boundless male protagonist, the stallion scum himself, Ye Ze.
