LFTMPH Chapter 24-Executed by Heaven and Destroyed by Earth Part 5

Translated by Snowfall77

A blazing inferno filled Xia Ge’s sight and she could feel a concentrated aura of ‘ravages of war.’

Powerful.  Unreasonably powerful.

Absolutely powerful.

Was this what the rank of SS strength looked like?

Xia Ge recalled what the book The Boundless Beauty of the Wind and the Moon had said of Lingxi Sect’s great disciple.

To reach that status, one had to be able to stand against a great force on their own, protecting the peace of all the peaks.

—–One person stands, breaking a mighty army.

But just as Xia Ge wanted to do nothing more than plop on the ground and shout ‘666’ in her extreme astonishment, the spidery cracks in the golden barrier suddenly multiplied.  Apparently, it wouldn’t withstand the repeated violent impacts much longer.

System: [Host, Be Careful!]

Bang—-

A sharp paper needle managed to pierce through the barrier, coldly sliding past the hair above one of Xia Ge’s ears, before landing in the cold and damp dirt road behind her with a ‘snick.’

Snap—-

The golden barrier shattered into endless pieces!

Boom—-

Then a white shadow dropped from the sky.  Xia Ge, who’d staring up blankly, was unprepared for Bairen to land practically on top of her.  Completely caught off guard, Xia Ge promptly got her neck strangled by Bairen.  When, thanks to inertia, they both fell to the ground, they grappled each other, balled up like a dumpling—-

The fuck?!

Rolling around in the dirt with a demon child finally snapped Xia Ge out of her daze.  Unfortunately, by that point, a white paper blade was against her neck, leaving a thin trail of blood where it pressed against her skin.  Bairen’s deathly pale face, monstrous against a background of raging flames, showed two bloodshot black eyes as he hissed: “Kill you……”

One of the boys in white……?

Xia Ge, who’d been pondering how to approach the Demon Sect, was actually pleasantly surprised: “Yo, it’s a gift from heaven!”

While behind them streams of fire reflected off of Bairen’s face and his expression of desperate resolution—-

If he couldn’t kill Gu Peijiu, he could at least kill a different bastard from Lingxi Sect!

Lifting his eyes, Bairen prepared to use all his strength to finish this piece of shit, only to be caught off guard by a pair of deep violet pupils!

—-{soul capture}!

Bairen’s movements turned very stiff.

The owner of the profound violet eyes fished out a little wooden puppet from her sleeve, obviously unafraid of the paper needle against her neck and smiling: “No need to be so fierce, really.  Come on brother, let me show you a darling treasure.”

Jianfeng-

Heaven and earth were shaking and rumbling, making it a bit hard to fall asleep.

“Miss!”

Outside the door, Xiaocui’s anxious voice was panic-stricken: “Miss, please get up!  Something strange is happening in the sky—-”

With a sigh, Chu Yao opened light brown eyes, full of anger.  Wearing snow-white underclothes, dark hair draped over a shoulder, and holding her sword in one hand, she easily opened the bamboo screen over the window with the other.

Blood-red.

What should have been a black night sky was filled with a terrifying blaze, the moon and stars nowhere to be seen.  Innumerable streams of fire were billowing in the scarlet sky, the earth’s quivering clearly audible.  And even from such a distance, the distinct aromas of scorched earth and boiling lava were readily detectable.

Pupils shrinking, Chu Yao let the bamboo shade screen drop.  She hurriedly dressed in her blue and white clothes, hung her sword from her waist, and then in a flash, her figure disappeared.

Lingxi-

The elder raised her head, taking in the red sky, storming with flames, and softly sighed to herself.

“Peijiu……”

Shoufeng-

“Chirp~”

A bird with yellow feathers and a red beak flew here and there, until finally landing on the fingertips of a man dressed in animal skins.  In the distance, the man saw that the night firmament had turned scarlet, a strange light emerging in his black pupils.

Outside Mojia village-

The split-second the golden barrier shattered, Ge Peijiu ceased her offensive.

The fire gradually receded, the lava slowly cooled.

However, whether it had been an A rank puppet or a S rank blue fire puppet, after suffering heaven’s punishment, they were now nothing but charred corpses.

The young lady in red and white soared high in the air, her ayara dancing in the wind, flames dissipating along with the golden light.

Bai Luo, holding onto his pale piccolo, was spitting up blood from the horrible backlash of the puppets’ rapid destruction.  While a rigid Bairen had a white paper blade pressed against a young man’s neck.

Gu Peijiu, {tianzhuling} wrapped around a hand, stared silently down at the broken barrier and Xia Wuyin being held hostage for a moment, before asking indifferently: “Did you scheme this hard just to kill me?”

Without responding to Gu Peijiu, Bairen abruptly moved to stand in front of Xia Ge, his body stiff as he gawked into deep violet eyes.  In the lightest voice, Xia Ge commanded him: “This is my first order, answer the question truthfully—-”

Like he’d just been slapped awake, Bairen came to his senses, though still gaping blankly.  He didn’t turn to look at Gu Peijiu floating in the sky above him, but his tone was incredibly ferocious: “Yes, the purpose was for you, Ge Peijiu, to die!”

“Very good, very good.”  Lips slightly curving up, Xia Ge put her little Liuli puppet in Bairen’s pocket, “Now, my second order.  Take this puppet, take me hostage, and run for your lives with your older brother.”

“……yes.”

As soon as the word fell from his lips, Bairen whipped the paper blade back against Xia Ge’s neck, and turned to look up at Gu Peijiu, his black eyes like one in a trance.

……obey, obey the order.

Flee for your life with your older brother.

Keep the little wooden puppet.

Hold……the master hostage.

Getting practically strangled by this boy, Xia Ge griped to herself.  Fuck your mother!  Couldn’t this little demon bastard have a lighter touch?!

Gu Peijiu eyed Bairen coldly: “Let him go.”

While Gu Peijiu’s attention was on Bairen, Bai Luo who’d only barely avoided getting torched by flames, hid behind the charred corpse of a puppet, his hands trembling.  Still, he managed to fish out a runestone from his chest.  Resolutely pushing the puppet corpse off himself, his figure flashed and, in an instant, he was by Bairen’s side.  Bai Luo grabbed Bairen by the collar with one hand, saying lowly: “Bairen, we need to go.”

Bairen subconsciously loosened his grip on Xia Ge, the paper blade leaving Xia Ge’s neck.  Yet the violet eyes still had him in a daze.

Whoosh—-

The ayara was like a knife, rushing over the second Bairen eased his hold on Xia Ge!  Bai Luo rolled away, his brother grasped in an arm.  But as he dodged {tianzhuling}, the runestone in his other hand suddenly broke into pieces!

“We won’t let this go, Gu Peijiu.”

“You’d better watch your back—-”

Bai Luo’s voice was ice-cold, and in the wake of the runestone’s disintegration, the two brothers disappeared simultaneously.

Xia closed her violet eyes the second Bai Luo left with his brother.  She sat on the ground quietly, waiting.  When she heard approaching footsteps, all at once she laughed.

“Truly amazing, Senior Sister,” she said.

Standing beside her, a young lady dressed in white and red pulled back Xia Ge’s hand over her neck, exposing a bloody trail: “You’re hurt.”

Gu Peijiu blamed herself somewhat.

“……”

Xia Ge, who’d deliberately given a couple of demon boys the chance to escape, tilted her head and smiled: “It’s nothing.”

“……”  Gu Peijiu leaned over, slender fingers lightly stroking the mark on Xia Ge’s neck.  In spite of the stink of all the burning, Gu Peijiu’s white sleeve embroidered with red maple retained its gentle fragrance.  Perhaps because of the darkness, the aroma of sandalwood and peach blossom was especially distinct.

Without meaning to, Xia Ge lost her head a bit.

“Does it hurt?”
Voice like a clear mountain spring, a trace of tenderness in the chilliness.

“……doesn’t hurt.”

Gu Peijiu said no more.

“Senior Sister, you’re really awesome.”  Xia Ge returned to herself and started chattering, “This is the first time in my life I’ve seen someone as powerful as you.”

Executed by heaven and destroyed by earth.

…multiples of 6 are associated with good fortune in Chinese culture.
The number was first used by a group of League of Legends players when they were trying to applaud their teammates and opponents.

When it comes to Chinese internet slang, it means ‘You are doing amazing sweetie.
Also, you will find that most Chinese gamers put the number ‘666’ in the group chat to stand for ‘smooth/slick’ when they see that their opponent has made an impressive skill.
Also, it sounds a lot like ‘job well done’ or ‘good luck in the game’.
