”At the raid on the Archaic Mountain, the Elpizo mercenary group slayed the Void Dragon along with the traitor Den Grimar who submitted to the Demons. This marks the victory of humanity gaining a foothold on earth thus opening a new era. ”

”Okay class that will be the end of our first day of class. Rest today because tomorrow will be the real start of our class ” Professor Gildar said while closing the book she red and leave the classroom.

I silently walked out of classroom after our homeroom professor left. Different sounds of excitement will be heard across the whole academy.

Edrodorth Academy is the academy I am currently studying in the east. It is a school for chosens to learn to use weapons and magic along with the Magicruxic Academy in the west, Vallenta Academy in the north, Dosdamus Academy in the South and Lexus Academy in the center of the human domain.

Edrodorth Academy is ranked top four of all five academies surpassing the Dosdamus Academy with Magicruxic being the third, Vallenta being the second and Lexus gaining the title top academy in human domain.

Youll probably wondering why the earth is completely different from the past. Let me tell you the history.

Exactly Year 2090, ozone layer that keeps the earth from evolving was significantly damaged because of the inevitable global warming and meteors from outer space collided the earth opening portals and spatial cracks making a connection with other planets. It is also known as the Great Catalysm or the Second Beginning of Earth because mana poured in causing the earth to form much more firm ozone layer. Different calamities like earthquakes and tsunamis occured resulting in billions of human casualties.

Continents went back to its original shape forming the Pangea but because of sudden increase in mana, the top part of it linked to the east side of the continent and new lands emerge from the oceans. The earth expanded by atleast three halves. Living things undergone evolution just like the earth. It is known that the the earth is just four dimentional planet in the past but becuase of surging mana, everything became possible.

Supernatural creatures that you can just read in the books emerged such as vampires, mermaids and werewolves. It just like they found their way back home.

Demonic beasts swarm into the earth wrecking havoc across the land monopolizing the earths surging mana. Magical beasts appear in different side of the planet.

Human recieves awakening. They are called chosens and wiith the evolution of humans, they battle with demonic beasts for survival but because they are just starting to adapt in power they just gained, the humans are forced to retreat in the northeast side of continent currently known as human domain.

Demons makes an appearance. They nature is aggressive matched with their strong physique. They occupied and destoryed races planets by planets to exhaust the planets mana. They are proud race that thinks every race are below themselves.

Elves, Orcs and Drwarvens seeks refugee on earth because Demons occupied their planets. With the constant increase in mana, they survive and battle with the Demons to finally occupying the south part of continet called Encantasia.

The Demons retreat to the northwest making it their territory and camp.

The battlefield between the Demons, Encantasia and Humans takes place at the center of the continent. Mountains of dead bodies are lying in there and beings named it Forbidden Land.

The continent consist of the Human domain occupying 2/9 in the northeast, the Encantasia 3/9 in the south, the Demons 3/9 in the northwest and the Forbidden Land at the Center of the continent occupying 1/9 of it.

Thats all for history.

I didn notice that Ive already arrived at a hospital. I walked through the familiar white hallway and greet the nurse who is in charge of logs.

”Cal, for your sister right? ”

I smiled and nodded to the nurse after hearing my name. She really knows me well because I always passed here everyday for five years.

”Thank you nurse Feli for taking care of my sister ”

My sister is diagnosed with a diseased called Parlaximia. A rare diseased which the patient affected by it will be in a coma after 8 years because of mana inside their body is slowly devouring them. In case of my sister, she is diagnosed and went to coma after 9 years. This makes my sister different from all patient and this is the secret only I know.

She is surviving so I also need too.

I sat in the chair beside the bed of my little sister. I held her hand and communicated with her. I know shes listening, or rather I hope so.

”Sora, just hold on a little longer. Brother promise you that I will get you out of here and travel different places okay? ”

”You know, I got accepted in Edrodorth Academy. After I graduate, I can get a better job and buy an elixir for you! ”

My part time job can barely support the living condition of my sister in the hospital and even if I applied for another part time job they will not accept a worthless like me. I need to get stronger and find a stable source of income.

The months due date is in five days and I only have 37,250 credits for the 100,000 credits bill every month.

*Sigh*

”Brother is quite powerful you know, I will definitely get you the cure soon, so hold on a little longer okay? ” my mouth twitched.

I almost cried lying to my sister. I am not powerful. I am just an E rank talent, currently an F- rank. At most I will be accepted in a research team or be a manager in a small mercenary group because of my Intelligence.

Im jealous for those whose talent is above A rank because they get sponsors. By having an above A rank talent, different guilds will try to recruit you because they want to nurture you. An E rank talent like me can just have fantasies.

I sighed at the pitiful situation of me and my sister.

Mom, Dad, why did you leave us so early?

My parents are nowhere to be found after hunting in a dungeon last year. They go to a dungeon one rank above their ranks risking their lives to earn more credits for medication of my sister.

After that, the manager who is responsible for the raid paid us credits for participation and give the loots that my parents got but I know that they didn give it all because I only got a book with no writings inside.

Those trash creatures, I will erase their existance once I become powerful i clenched my fist after they crossed my mind.

I sighed.

The only valuable I can sell is the red book because I ran out of cores that my parents save. This book came from a D rank dungeon.

Cores are rare because demonic creature who have cores are either have advanced skill for their rank or developed an intelligence. Intelligent demonic creature can be found in higher ranked dungeons.

Also, important parts of a demonic creature can be used to make magic tools, weapons or armors that can be used when raiding a dungeon. Natural treasures and artifacts can also be found in dungeons which prices varied by its ranks.

Cores and parts of demonic creatures are sold in the guild or manager responsible for the raid but artifacts and natural treasures are sold in auctions.

The red book my parents obtain is an artifact. I think it will sell for around 100,000 credits because it have weird ancient patterns on it worth studying but probably not. The book doesn have any writings inside, in other words its empty. Who will be dumb enough to buy a book thats empty? Not me though.

No no no no, Lets not think about selling the book. Thats the only thing my parents left before they left the world. I shooked my head at the idea.

I heard a sound and pick up the rectangular device in my pocket. In the crack screen of my small phone, an unknown number just texted me.

I don remember giving my number to anyone. Who is this?

I open the message poped up in the notification.

”Apartment 287B Landlord Here. Please evacuate your belongings in your room dear resident. A demonic beast outbreak will occur, It is advisable to retreat 200 meter radius at the place of event. ”

What rotten luck. Of all places… why near my apartment? jeez… I need to hurry
