Chapter 266: Some Facts May Seem Important, But Are Not All That Important Really Part 1

Here’s the question: which one of the two is stronger? The big guy? Or maybe the small guy? Truth to be told, this debate has been going on ever since the dawn of the first RPG game, and is yet to be definitely concluded.
However, for it it was this exact moment that made me find the answer to that age old question.

Although they were way bigger than the size of a human, the very sight of a small bunny was more than enough to cause the Nagas to take a step back in fear.
That’s how intimidating that small bunny was.

「Oho, and what’s this? Edward, my boy, you are covered in cuts and bruises all over.
Again.」

「P-Pops……」

「Oho, I guess this calls for some righteous punishment for those guys over there.」

Edward tries to stand up, but was so weak that he was unable to do that.
The sword he was using up until now laying by his side…… Weissash picks it up and pulls it out from its scabbard.
Then he rests the blade atop his shoulder and looks towards Goldunine.

「I am honestly surprised to see you here, out on a stroll, perhaps? But since you are already here, then…… you get it, don’t you? Yes, that’s right……」

「Why would even want to protect those maggots? Why are you so obsessed with them?」

「This is only my personal opinion, but don’t you think it is extremely rude to step all over the promising buds, without giving them a chance to bloom and realize their true potential?」

「Promising buds? What is so “promising” about them? I see no such potential in them at all.
Even now, and from now on…… As long as I remain myself, I am the only one who will ever matter!」

The two Unique Monsters carry on with their conversation.
Even though they were using the language we could all understand, there was no way for us to actually understand what they were talking about.
It was perhaps something that only Unique Monster were able to understand.

As long as I remain myself, I am the only one who will ever matter……? Is that supposed to be a riddle of some sort? Or some kind of a code? It sounds like an egg dish mixed with eggs and topped with eggs.
While I was busy thinking such silly things, I realized that since Weissash was here, we would need to plan our next move carefully.
But before I was able to propose anything, it was Weissash that made the first move.

「When it comes to you and I…… I think it is about time we put an end to using our dear children to fight our battles, resolving out disputes.
Don’t you think it is about time we put an end to our disputes by our own actions?」

To Weissash’s words, Goldunine sends him a chilling look, one that would be more than enough for a normal person to drop dead on the spot.
However, Weissash did not even flinch under that gaze.
Even her own snakes seemed to be afraid of his cool demeanor, even though they were bigger than him.
Goldunine should have had the upper hand here, since they controlled the majority of the tunnels not until long ago, but right now the upper hand was shifting towards Weissash with every passing second.

Now then, what are we supposed to do now? And what will Goldunine do now that the advantage was no longer at her side?

Well, since this is a tunnel, the wind actually blows from the direction of the entrance towards the depths, but…… This is a cave.
So why is this gust of wind strong like a hurricane?

All of a sudden the Nagas let out a loud roar, as if they were trying to communicate that they are still here as well, besides the two Unique Monsters.
You could also see that the wind was actually applying damage to their bodies, chipping away their scales and exposing the bright red meat that was hidden underneath.
All this from a wind, whereas even Rei’s attacks were unable to put a scratch on them……

What is it now? If Wezaemon was still around, I would have attributed that to him, but…… What even is this? Magic? A skill?

「Now, those are some bald words if I ever heard one.

I don’t want to be the buzzkill here, but…… Yeah, this must be said.
Just how both Goldunine and Weissash intend to win here? Both of them should be gimmick bosses, right? Or maybe they are like Wezaemon or Luukan, possessing some insta kill moves up their sleeves?

That would be nice.
A quick and decisive skirmish, resolved with one quick exchange of blows.But since their expressions remain stone cold, it was actually hard to predict what they would do next.

You do not belong in this battlefield.」

I shall allow this only this one time, as an exception.」
