Elizabeth and David were shocked, Alice was happy to have a new friend, and Alex didn even know what to say.

Elizabeth: Uhm, when you say Finn, do you mean…?

Finn: Yep! Im the fox!

David: Oh! That makes sense….I think. Nice to meet you in person Finn! Wait. Weve already met in person so itd be…

David was in a world of his own mumbling to himself while Elizabeth was trying to take everything in.

Elizabeth: You know what? Ive had enough thinking about all this stuff. Alex has always been…different to say the least so his pet turning into a human? Whatever man. *sigh*

Alex looked at his mom completely shooketh since he didn expect her to say that. Shes always been the one to think about the situation but now…Its like shes completely given up.

Alice: Finn! Lets go play!

Alex: Wait, Alice!? What about me? Im leaving in 2 days you know? Don you wanna p-

Alice: No! I wanna play with Finn!

Alex slowly fell to his knees after he heard his own sister betray him.

Alex: I give up.

Alice and Finn ran outside to play with each other while Alex was about to go in his room. Before Alex could leave though, David stopped him.

David: Alex, wait. Come back down for a sec.

Alex turned around and walked down the stairs peeking his head around the corner.

Alex: Yeah, whats up dad?

David: I know you
e ready to leave to the academy and all, but I have a test for you before I allow you to leave.

Alex: Oh, uh, alright. Whats the test?

David: You have to beat me in a sparring match.

David looked at Alex with a dead serious look on his face while Alex just stared at him.

Alex: Pfft- Im sorry…pff…HAHAHAHAHA!

David: Whats so funny?

Alex: Ive been besting you in spars since I was 11! Don you think this is a little too easy?

David stopped and held his chin as he was thinking. After about a minute, he nodded his head.

David: That is true. But I still wanna see how far youve grown. So lets go.

Alex: Alright dad. Lets go.

Alex and David walked outside grabbing the 2 practice swords on the side and then walked 5 meters away from each other. They looked each other in the eye for 2 minutes before grabbing their swords seriously.

David launched himself forward at Alex and swung his sword in an arc towards Alexs right arm. Alex took a step back and parried the sword before going in for a stab to Davids chest. David looked at Alex and with a grin, hit Alexs sword upward and kicked towards his chest.

Alexs chest was wide open but he did a quick shift and Davids kick barely missed him. Alex took advantage of his momentum and did a back kick towards Davids chest. Before it reached David though, David jumped back making Alex miss.

David: Don underestimate me Alex! I may be old but I have a lot of experience!

David grinned and ran towards Alex and jumped, preparing for an overhead strike. Alex looked at David before stepping backwards to avoid it.

Alex: I am NOT falling for that…

David: Hahaha!

David landed with a crouch and pushed himself at Alex with a wild grin on his face. Alex waited for David to get close before side stepping and putting his foot out. David looked at the foot with a small chuckle.

David: Im in danger…

David had too much momentum and couldn stop himself and he tripped over Alexs foot. Before David could get up fast enough, he felt the wooden sword on the back of his neck.

Alex: I win.

David: Ha. Guess I lost.

Alex gave David a hand to stand up while David started grinning again. When David got up, he threw his arm around Alexs shoulder and started laughing.

David: I guess you
e ready to leave us all behind! I always knew you would be a genius level…whatever! Well, Ill see you inside!

David gave Alex a heavy pat on the back and walked inside leaving Alex alone in his own thoughts.

Alex: *sigh* This went by so fast. I wish I had more time. Well, I can just come visit them whenever I want so its all good. Yup!

Alex went inside and went to shower.

2 Days Later

Alex was standing with Finn outside with a backpack on each of them.

Elizabeth: I can believe you
e leaving already! It felt like just yesterday when you fell on your face trying to walk…

David: Or when he swung my sword and hit himself right in the nose! Haha!

Alex: Uh huh. Right. Haha…

Alice: Brother, where are you going?

When Alex heard his sister, his eyebrow twitched.

Alex: Im leaving for the academy. Ive already told you this…

Alice looked at Alex with her eyes going wide and started crying.

Alice: Big brother! Please don leave me! Please!

Alice started crying even harder while Alex was trying to calm her down. he succeeded after 10 minutes.

Alex: Well, I guess I should be going. Bye everyone!

Alex waved at his family while they waved back. Alice started crying again and Elizabeth started tearing up. David, on the other hand, was just grinning.

David: Don go forgetting about us now, you hear!

Alex: Huh? Who are you again?

Alex and David looked at each other with a small smile before nodding. Alex and Finn kept walking before they ran ahead out of sight. Alex was about to go on his adventure that hes been waiting for his whole life and he can wait.

Alex has left home.

Well then, I guess I should end Volume 1 like this. I think thatd make sense. But yeah, I hope youve liked this story so far. Its definitely been fun writing this since I can really just write whatever I want. But yeah. See you in Volume 2! Which is probably gonna be like tomorrow or something honestly….
