Ai Lin was certain the virtual world was based on VRMMO games from Earth.
She’d been a veteran gamer and played some of the more popular games before transmigrating.
She hadn’t played VRMMO type games, but had read lots of novels about them.

With all that experience, she knew she could find a secret mission or two!

What she didn’t know was how misleading the actual game experience could be.
She spent a lot of time looking all over for anything suspicious while trying to ingratiate herself to the locals.
But what did she get after all that effort? Nothing.
She finally gave up and worked hard on completing what tasks she could.

She was determined to level up so she accepted the hardest quests which involved eliminating monsters and finding items.
She got a bronze staff and a follow-up quest as a reward.

Ultimately the virtual world was different from virtual games.
Games were meant to entertain and create profit whereas the virtual world was meant to increase a person’s skill and experience, so there were big differences between the two.
Take for example money.
Online games allowed you to purchase in-game currency with real world money by topping up from your computer, but this wasn’t an option in the virtual world – adventurers couldn’t bring outside money in.

Fortunately there were many ways to make money in the virtual world, such as accepting missions from trade guilds or working the traditional way.
You could earn money any way you wanted to but you had to earn it inside the virtual world.

Congratulations, you have reached level 10 and can now enter major cities to begin your adventure.

Feng Wu finally reached level 10 after completing the same task for the nth time.
She got a beautiful and powerful looking silver sword as a reward.
She stored the sword in her ring and opted to keep using the bronze sword instead.
She headed to the teleportation array.

She’d been in the village for two days, but now she could finally leave.
It had taken her two days of monster hunting to reach level 10.
The missions were difficult but experience points increased exponentially to suit the difficulty.
The rewards were great.

The array transported her and others level 10 and above to a major city called Main City West Flower.

There were four major cities in the virtual world, Main City East Flower, Main City North Flower, Main City South Flower and Main City West Flower.
The cities were equivalent to safe zones: people were safe from attacks.
Anyone engaged in violence would be arrested.

Feng Wu didn’t know which one to go to so she chose a random one.
A flash of light later and she was transported to a large prosperous city.

“Come come! Don’t miss out on the latest work by a genius pharmacist.
It’s the ultimate recovery potion, instantly restores your magic.
Only twenty silver!”

“Take a look! Take a look! A defensive robe made by a well-known sewing master.
Only twenty gold folks! Twenty gold! Just twenty gold! Hurry! Don’t miss out!”

“Clearance on bronze level essential items! What are you waiting for?! Come and get them before we run out!”

“Magic beast eggs! Magic beast eggs! Ten gold! Quantities limited so buy them now!”

Feng Wu looked around so curious about everything she nearly forgot about finding Ming Xi.
She strolled through the streets and bought five meat buns.
She was full after all the buns.

Newcomers from Novice village had to report to their respective guilds where they would receive a new level 10 set of clothes and two gold coins.
Feng Wu found the Sword Masters’ guild after speaking to a few locals.

After picking up her items Feng Wu had seven gold coins, five of which were from Novice village, and two from the guild just then.
It wasn’t a lot but it was enough to eat.

This was important because the virtual world had an assigned hunger value.
Those whose hunger value rose too high wouldn ’t be able to move.
Adventurers couldn ’t help but eat at restuarants and buy from vendors.
Such a good customer base, it created a robust food industry in the virtual world.

Feng Wu switched to her new clothes and left the guild.

Jier told her Senior Ming Xi would be in the virtual world, but he didn ’t say where.
Feng Wu walked all around the city but couldn ’t find Ming Xi.
Disappointed, she immediately left the virtual world and contacted Jier.

“Jier, you said Senior Ming Xi was in the virtual world.
I can’t find him,” said an unhappy Feng Wu.

“Oh?! The virtual world is so big.
You finished looking already?”

Feng Wu lowered her head.
“No.” She had done it wrong.

“It’s OK.
Wait for me.
I’ll ask Sister Elena if she knows.” Jier wanted to help Feng Wu even if he didn’t think she and Ming Xi were compatible.

It wasn’t possible for someone with Ming Xi’s identity and family background to marry someone with a child.
Even though Feng Wu was the cutest, simplest, and best girl he knew, he also knew that Ming Xi’s status was too high.
Ming Xi’s family would never accept her.

Jier understood all this so he wasn’t enthusiastic about Feng Wu’s pursuit of Ming Xi.
He was supportive of it, but he didn’t actively encourage it.
At the same time though he didn’t want his good friend to be sad.

So despite his reservations he decided to take the initiative to ask the whereabouts of Senior Ming Xi.
He had to follow up on it too, otherwise he knew Feng Wu would get mad.

The last time she was angry at him, she didn’t speak to him for a week.
If he hadn’t apologized and agreed to some unfair treaties, she may have fought with him for a year!
