When Yin YiLiu dragged Jin Yang into the basement, some insects had already mutated in the pitch-black basement.

Since the basement was full of convenient to store foods, desiccant and insecticide packs were placed everywhere in the room.
This way, there was no case of mosquitos overrunning the basement.

Yin YiLiu’s vision right now was extremely sharp, in the dark environment she was immediately able to pinpoint a few rotten cauliflowers.
Inside the rotten cauliflowers, there were caterpillars the lengths of fingers wiggling around.
When they raised their fat bodies, fine rows of sharp teeth can be seen.

She suppressed her disgust as she used her paw to crush the bugs.
Then, standing on her hind legs, she raised her short and chubby body to push the things in the basement to a corner in order to make room for Jin Yang.

When evening came, the sky started to darken and the fog swirling in the air also began to gradually dissipate.

The Jin family’s villa was located in the suburbs and the land around it were all private properties of their estate so there are rarely people being seen passing by.

Not to mention, it was close to the New Year.
Jin Yang had dismissed all the helpers to go home for the New Year.
Like this, the villa became even more vacant and quiet.

When the fog dissipated, the blood-red crescent moon hanging in the sky stood out starkly, creating an eerie atmosphere in the air.

At this moment, behind the fake mountain in the Jin Family’s backyard, a pair of furry, pointed ears popped out.
It trembled softly and soon after, a rabbit head stretched out.
It twitched its pink nose and hopped out of the basement.

It didn’t seem like your average beast, it’s eyes were very spiritual as it looked around.
After making sure there was no one around, it quickly hopped towards the villa in the distance.

This rabbit was precisely Yin YiLiu.
She’s heading to the villa to see if there was any way to lower Jin Yang’s temperature.
Ever since she moved Jin Yang into the basement, Jin Yang had been burning with a high fever non-stop.
His entire was boiling hot like a piece of smelted iron.

Originally, she wasn’t too worried, thinking this was a normal reaction when mutating.
Who knows when she looked at Jin Yang again after tidying up the basement, his handsome face had turned red from the fever and his lips were bloodless and chapped.

She was unable to sit still after that.
Afraid that the villain would be burned silly before the plot even began, she could only take on the responsibility of venturing out to find ways to lower Jin Yang’s temperature.

The fake mountain in the backyard was quite some distance away from the villa.
The vegetations around her seemed to have become taller compared to how they were during the day, obstructing her field of vision.

All the other organisms had gained a sturdy physique through mutation.
Perhaps it was because she was a transmigator, but the size of her rabbit body didn’t change at all.

Even the bugs in the basement were half the size of her paw.
It really disgusted her to no end.

Yin YiLiu didn’t pay attention to the ground underneath her feet as she ran.
She suddenly felt a sharp pain accompanied by the sensation of a cut forming on her paw, causing her to stop her movements.
Using the moonlight, she looked at her paw.

On her pink paw pad, there was actually a thin cut.
A red line trickled from the wound.

She looked down and saw that the edges of the grasses had become jagged, like rows of sharp teeth.
She was alarmed.

The bit of rabbit blood smeared on the grass steeped into the plant and was soon gone without a trace.
This indicated that the grasses were no longer just harmless vegetation that could be trampled on, they may be even more bloodthirsty than one could imagine.

Yin YiLiu could only bring her injured paw to her three-petaled rabbit mouth.
She used her soft tongue to lick her wound, the taste of copper spreading throughout her mouth.

After she arrived at the villa with much difficulty, the wound on her paw had already stopped bleeding.
The inside of the villa was dark without any lights on, there was only the silver moonlight shining through from outside the window.

She didn’t dare to open any lights, fearful of attracting any unwanted attention.
At any rate, the lights shouldn’t be working as of now anyway.
She could only raise her head and search for the things she wanted in the villa.

The fridge in the kitchen had already lost power.
When the freezer door was opened, cold water trickled down from it.
Yin YiLiu got a basin from the cabinet and placed the partially melted ice from the freezer into it.

She then gathered some towels from the villa.
Placing everything inside the basin, she lugged her haul back to the basement.

The basement was even darker than the outside.
Thankfully, Yin YiLiu had a strong vision.
She hopped to Jin Yang’s side and used her soft paw to touch Jin Yang’s forehead.

Taking a piece of partially melted ice, she wrapped it in a towel and pressed it against Jin Yang’s cheek.
The wound on her paw pad became numb from the low temperature of the ice.

When Jin Yang’s face became less flushed, Yin YiLiu used her paws to cup some cold water.
The cold water trickled through JIn Yang’s lips and entered his mouth.

Like so, this process was repeated tens of times before the temperature of Jin Yang’s cheeks and forehead were abated a bit.

Yin YiLiu was exhausted.
Her boneless body laid limpidly by Jin Yang’s arm, perfectly resembling a ball of white fluff.

This rabbit body of hers was really too inconvenient.
With her tiny rabbit paws, it would be considered great if she could carry two drops of water at a time.

Jin Yang was comfortable now but she was too tired to even move.

The soft and white rabbit leaned against the unconscious man’s arm.
Like this, it gradually fell asleep.

Jin Yang thought he was trapped in a nightmare.
His entire body felt like it was submerged in magma.
It felt like his insides were on fire, his skin ablazed.
He tried to breathe in the nightmare but it felt like breathing fire in a desert.
Other than feeling every muscle in his body spasm in pain, all he felt was the searing heat.

As he couldn’t endure it anymore, he suddenly felt a cold and refreshing sensation on his cheek.
Following after, his forehead and neck were also enveloped in a layer of coolness.
It was like a basin of water had been poured on his frantic heart.

He let out a soft sigh.
Not long after, he felt a round, soft object pressing against his lips.
He then tasted water.

The scorching heat in his body seemed to be dissipating bit by bit but the pain continued to plague him incessantly.
As he was fading in and out of consciousness, he saw a white fur ball nestled by his side.
Its small body moved up and down as it breathed and its face was gently covered by its pink and white ears, revealing only a tiny rabbit mouth.

It was the little thing raised by him.

Jin Yang thought he was dreaming.
He dreamt that a little rabbit was taking care of him.
He reached out and grabbed the rabbit tail beside him before losing consciousness.

Yin YiLiu was sleeping sweetly when she suddenly felt her tail being pulled taut.
She was startled awake by the pain.
Having been captured, her entire body began to tremble at once as she hopped backward with her four paws.

Looking backward, she confirmed she wasn’t hallucinating.
Jin Yang was still unconscious with tightly furrowed brows but strangely one of his hands was wrapped around her rabbit tail.

Her rabbit neck was too short so she couldn’t see it clearly but that didn’t stop her from feeling indignant.

Ever since she transmigrated over, she had led a tiring life.
A small rabbit had to look after an adult man, and now even her tail had been seized.
Can a person even rest!

She huffily peeled away Jin Yang’s hand with her paws, wanting to free her poor rabbit tail from this horrible situation.
Who knew the unconscious man would suddenly tighten his hand, sending a shock of pain through her spine.

When Yin YiLiu finally freed her tail, she immediately hopped away from the unconscious Jin Yang.
When she looked back, she saw that in the man’s hand, there was a clump of soft and white fur.

She moved her tail, peering behind her back.
There was a small bald spot…

Yin YiLiu headbutted open the basement entrance.
It was already light outside.
Daytime seemed to have gotten hotter all of a sudden.
Yin YiLiu felt that the sun above her had gotten noticeably brighter as well as bigger.

She thought she was thinking too much.
She hopped towards the villa.

During her trip last night, she noticed that there was a lot of good stuff inside the villa.
They seemed to be gift boxes of food given by other people.
She planned to move them all to the basement as it wasn’t safe at all to leave them in the villa where people may break in at any moment.

In the novel, during the doomsday people were willing to fight each other for just a piece of biscuit.
Food was the foundation of a person during doomsday.

Yin YiLiu didn’t know how it was like in the outside world but she herself was frantic.
If she saw anything that can be eaten, she would want to move it to the basement.

Although she had say, there really was a lot of quality stuff in Jin Yang’s house.
In the storage room, there were boxes after boxes of ginseng and bird’s nest stacked together.
In Yin YiLiu’s eyes, this was akin to a mountain of gold and silver, they can be used to save lives.

Originally, she was feeling down but now she was full of motivation.
The modern spirit of buying, buying, then buying some more, she seemed to have found that joy again.

In the villa, only a soft and white rabbit can be seen.
It carried boxes after boxes with its mouth as it scurried around the villa.

During the day, Yin YiLiu stockpiled food.
The food inside the gift boxes were all vacuum packaged anyway.
Then during the night, she would help Jin Yang lower his temperature.

These past few days.
Jin Yang’s temperature remained high but his skin didn’t burn her paws like before.
At least she no longer had to worry about him becoming a fool from his brain burning.
Sometimes, when Yin YiLiu placed her paws against his skin, she could feel his muscles underneath twitching.
It was especially so for his injured legs.

She didn’t know how long Jin Yang’s mutation would take.
In the novel, the male lead only awakened after four days.
She reckoned, Jin Yang, as the novel’s most op villain, it would only take longer for him.

On the fourth day, Yin YiLiu went out as usual to move stuff.

The basement was full of the food and items that she had gathered.
As long as something caught her eye, she would stuff it into the basement.
Jin Yang’s expression had also grown more peaceful.
She had brought a mat more him to lay on, and at this moment, the man appeared no different than from sleeping.

Before she left, she touched Jin Yang’s forehead.
Feeling that the man’s temperature is more or less the same as the average person’s, she nodded her small head in satisfaction, a pair of rabbit ears also bobbing up and down.
She then hopped outside.

As for the food in the villa, as long as it didn’t spoil easily, not even a single mouthful of food will be left behind by her!

Yin YiLiu was in quite the pleasant mood.
Before heading to the villa, she jumped onto the bridge and squeaked at the lake.
Immediately, a golden-scaled fish that was half a meter long leaped out of the water.
In its large fish mouth were two rows of sharp teeth that were longing to rip into the white furball on the bridge.

Pity, its body was too heavy.
It fell back into the water halfway to its target, causing a large splash.

The white furball squeaked twice before hopping towards the villa.

The fish in the lake had also mutated to become frighteningly fierce.
However, ever since Yin YiLiu discovered that they had no way of biting her, teasing the fish every day had become a source of joy for her.

She had just entered the villa when she noticed there was a faint fishy smell in the villa.
Immediately she raised her alert.

After Yin YiLiu mutated, her sense of smell had been increased by nearly a hundredfold.
Because of this, she was able to accurately pinpoint locations where food was stored.
At this moment, the air was mingled with the scent of mud and blood.
From this, she knew an uninvited guest had broken into the villa.

Had her worries come true so early on? There were people here?

In the next instant, she rejected her previous thoughts.

As her long rabbit ears trembled in the air, she heard a nearly indiscernible sound of movement.
Subconsciously, she raised her head, nearly letting out frightened squeaks from what she saw.

She saw an enormous spider—— the size of ten basketballs—— occupying the ceiling.
Yin YiLiu’s vision was too good, she could see clearly the spider’s compounded eyes staring intently at her as well as its hairy body.

Although her courage had grown greatly during these past days, when suddenly faced with this kind of monster, she was petrified.

The spider on the ceiling slowly closed and opened its fangs.
As they stared at each other in a deadlock, Yin YiLiu suddenly felt a strange sensation.

These past few days, she had seen many other mutant animals but none of them gave her this strange feeling as the spider did.
She seemed to be able to sense that this mutant animal was also very nervous, as if it was facing a huge enemy.

She tentatively let out two squeaks.
She waited for a moment before receiving a response via something similar to telepathy.
Immediately, her rabbit self was dumbfounded.

She could actually understand this spider’s intention?!

After a brief exchange, Yin YiLiu roughly understood the situation.

During mutations, organisms didn’t merely just grew bigger but their intelligence seemed to have increased too.
However, there was only a one in ten thousand chance of this happening.
The intelligence of most mutated animals remained unchanged, they only knew how to hunt.

This spider’s intelligence had increased after its evolution, albeit not by a lot, its mentality is around that of a six to seven years old human child.
It couldn’t express its intention very well so the telepathic messages sent by it were mostly incoherent.

But through its message, Yin YiLiu could more or less grasp the current situation outside.

After Doomsday’s arrival, humans who once stood on the top of the food chain were now the ones being hunted.
The outside had already become a mess.
Mutant animals were prolific and people fought amongst themselves over resources.

The Jin Family’s villa was located in the suburbs where it’s sparsely populated, which is why these past few days had seemed so peaceful.
