ht want a robe, but I’m planning to fight with a hammer, so armor is the way to go.

As I looked around the shop, Axe came back with a large cloth bag.

“This is the one that meets your requirements.
It’s priced at 2.6 million Elt.
It’s made of the leather of a C-ranked Marshland Lizard.
It comes as a set with a leather armor, gloves, leggings, and a cloak.
It also has good fire resistance.”

Marshland Lizard? I’m not sure what that is, but the color is a cool green-gray with a hint of green in the gray.
It looks cool, but it’s not flashy enough.

I’m kind of drawn to flashy armor that can make a big impact.
But wait, didn’t I plan on relying on the Adventurer’s Guild for protection once I become famous and get too much unwanted attention from troublemakers? But is that even possible?

Still, I don’t want to lower my head to that guild master.
Maybe I should just find a place where I can avoid troublemakers.
If I become famous, I can set my own conditions.
I briefly considered it before, but there’s no need to unnecessarily rely on protection.

Okay, let’s go with this plain leather armor for now.
I’ll wait until I get used to this world before going for the flashy armor.
I don’t even know if this armor is good or not, so I’ll trust Axe.

“I’ll take this one, please.”

“Okay, I’ll adjust it for you.
Please put it on.”

“…………”

“What’s wrong?”

I froze while holding the leather armor, and Axe spoke to me.
It’s better to ask and be embarrassed for a moment than to never ask and be embarrassed for a lifetime, right?

“I don’t know how to put on armor.”

“Aren’t you an adventurer?”

“I became one yesterday.”

“Did you take the beginner’s course?”

“I just found out about it.”

“…As a weapons dealer, I’m not sure if I should say this, but you should go take the course and come back later.”

“Hahaha.
It seems like it would be better to do that, but well, there are various reasons.
I like this armor, so I will buy it,” said Yuta.

It would have been better rather than arguing with the guild master.
Should I apply for the beginner training? It’s probably going to be heavily objected to, though.

“If you’re going to buy it, I won’t complain, but are you sure it’s good? Even if you wear good armor, you’ll easily die without knowledge,” said Axe, who seemed like a scary person but was actually quite nice.

“Yes, I’ll study, so it’ll be okay,” replied Yuta reluctantly.
Axe taught him how to properly equip the armor with a few adjustments.
He decided to wait here while Axe made the adjustments since it seemed like it wouldn’t take too long.

“Hey, Slyphy.
Do you know anything about the basics of being an adventurer?” asked the speaker.

“Well, I think I know a certain amount about adventurers, but I don’t know about the basics.
I’ve never really thought about it,” replied Slyphy.

“I see.
Thanks,” said Yuta.

As expected, it seemed like it would be better to apply for beginner training.
Even if I could force my way in, I might get frowned upon in strange places if I didn’t know the implicit rules.
The problem was the possibility of being rejected when applying.
After finishing all their shopping, he decided to stop by the guild to check.

While thinking about this, Axe quickly returned.
He confirmed the steps to wear the adjusted armor and put it on again.
It fits perfectly on his body.
Axe was really skilled.

“Thank you,” said Yuta.

“Yeah.
Take care of it properly.
Also, study,” said Axe.

“Haha, I’ll do both properly,” replied Yuta.

He also purchased a set of leather armor and sturdy clothes for adventurers to wear under the armor.
He bought three sets in total.
They cost 10,000 each…he couldn’t tell if that was expensive or cheap.

After changing into the leather armor, he looked like a proper adventurer.
The pants were Japanese trunks, though.

Leaving the store, he started walking to get ingredients.
He planned to buy a lot of food, it would be convenient to have the ingredients on hand if they wanted to make Japanese food with their own twist.

“Yuta, you look cool!” “Kyu kyu!” “Nice!” “Ku ku ku!”

“Thank you,” said Yuta, feeling good as he walked through the labyrinth city with the compliments from his friends.
It was convenient to blend in with their surroundings, as it meant he didn’t attract any strange attention.

As they walked, he stopped at food stalls that caught Bell and the others’ interest, buying skewers and bread.
The large chunks of meat sandwiched between bread looking like a rough sandwich looked very tempting, even though he was worried they might not be able to bite through it.
He was really looking forward to eating it.

He also saw soup being sold, but apparently, the bowls had to be returned, so he decided to skip it for now.
It seemed like it would be better to get a lot of dishes and pots and have someone cook for them at a delicious restaurant.

“Yuta, can we eat the bread now?” asked Bell.

Rain, Turu, and Tamamo also seemed interested, gathering around Yuta´s face.
It was hard to see ahead.
They all looked like they were drooling, but they couldn’t eat it here in the middle of the street.

“Um, we’ll eat it after we finish our errands.
When we go back to the inn we can eat it where no one can see us.
Can you guys wait?” asked Yuta.

“We can!” “Kyu!” “We’ll wait!” “Ku!”

They seemed a bit disappointed but said they could wait.
They were all such good kids, and Yuta wanted to pet and cuddle them, but he resisted the urge since it would attract attention.
Instead, he praised them in a low voice.

Walking through the labyrinth city with everyone was enjoyable, but it was annoying to have to worry about his surroundings all the time.
It might be fun to just let loose, but being disliked by the adventurer guild and being treated like a strange person by the people in the labyrinth city would be tough.
